Season Tickets make it easy to offer recurring access with a single ticket. This feature allows attendees to use the same ticket to enter your event throughout a season, creating custom scan limitations just for your season pass holders. Season Tickets are ideal for selling season passes for sports seasons, water parks, and other attractions where attendees can visit multiple times.

Pro Tip: In TicketSpice, you can set up season passes, standard ticket levels, raffle ticket levels, donation ticket levels on the same ticketing page.

  • Click here to learn how to set up a standard ticket level

  • Click here to learn how to set up a raffle ticket level

  • Click here to learn how to set up a donation ticket level

Note: Season passes are available only on Date-Based (Calendar), Date-Based (List), and Series of Events page types. They are not supported on the Standard page type.

Getting Started

  • On your ticketing page, scroll to the ticket block

  • Click Edit Ticket Information

  • Scroll to the ticket levels section

  • Click Add Ticket Level (or edit an existing ticket level on the page)

  • Name your ticket level

  • Select the Season Pass ticket type

Note: Season passes do not appear by default among existing ticket levels. To create a season pass, you’ll need to add a new ticket level and customize it as a season pass.

Customize Your Season Pass Settings and Price

Customize Basic Settings

  • Open your ticket level

  • Edit the ticket level's Name, if needed

  • Add a Description for the ticket level, if desired. This description appears below the ticket level name and can be used to explain what’s included with the ticket

  • Add an Image that appears to the left of the ticket level details, if desired. For best results, use an image sized 280 × 280 pixels

  • If desired, add a Sponsor Image that appears below the ticket level details. For best results, use an image sized 280 × 280 pixels

Customize the Price

When setting up your price, you'll need to choose whether the season pass uses a single price or multiple price points. After selecting an option, you can configure the pricing details for your season pass. Expand the option you plan to use below to learn how to set up your pricing.

Note: TicketSpice offers multiple ways to price a ticket level.

  • Single Price charges one fixed price for the entire ticket level

  • Multiple Price Points lets you offer different prices within the same ticket level for different audiences, all sharing the same inventory. This works well if you want to offer different pricing for specific groups while managing availability from a single ticket pool

Set Up Single Price

When you choose the single price option, TicketSpice charges the same fixed price for the ticket level.

  • Select Single Price

  • In the Online Price field, set the price for each season pass. If someone selects multiple season passes, our system will automatically calculate the total based on how many passes the customer selects

  • Click Add Fee to add a fee to your season pass. Your event keeps all additional funds you receive from these fees. This option can help to offset your ticketing and processing fees

    • Click the $ dropdown to adjust the fee type. You can set your fee to be a set dollar amount, or a percentage of the ticket price

    • Add the fee

Pro Tip: In addition to adding a fee, TicketSpice offers an option to automatically pass all ticketing and processing fees on to buyers, allowing you to receive the full face value of each order. This option is available for events using Webconnex Payments.

  • The Box Office Price option lets you charge a different price for season passes sold on-site through the Box Office App. By default, season passes sold online and on-site use the same pricing, but enabling this option allows you to set a separate price for on-site purchases.

    • If desired, toggle on Box Office Price to charge a different price for on-site sales

    • Set the price

    • Click Add Box Office Fee to add a fee to this season pass. When enabled, set the fee for your on-site sales

  • Use the Visibility field to determine whether this season pass will appear on your online ticketing page, in the Box Office, or in both. The Box Office App is used to sell tickets on-site

    • Everywhere - this option displays the ticket level both online and in the Box Office App

    • Online Only - this option displays the ticket level online, but not in the Box Office app

    • Box Office Only - this option displays the ticket level in the Box Office app, but not online

Set Up Multiple Price Points

In TicketSpice, you can offer multiple prices within a single ticket level for different audiences. This is useful if you want to provide different pricing options for specific groups while keeping everything organized under one ticket level.

For example, you use this option to offer Adult, Child, and Senior pricing under a single General Admission ticket level. Scroll down to learn how to set this up, or click here to explore additional sample use cases and the attendee experience.

  • In your ticket level, select Multiple Price Points

  • Click Add Price Points

  • Set whether you want this season pass to appear on your online ticketing page, in the Box Office, or in both. The Box Office App is used to sell tickets on-site

  • Click Add Price Point for each price point you want to add

    • Add a Name for the price point

    • Add a Description, if desired

    • Set the Price for the price point

    • Click Add Fee to add a fee to this price point. Your event keeps all additional funds you receive from these fees. This option can help to offset your ticketing and processing fees

      • Click the $ dropdown to adjust the fee type. You can set your fee to be a set dollar amount, or a percentage of the ticket price

      • Add the fee

    • The Box Office Price option lets you charge a different price for season passes sold on-site through the Box Office App. By default, season passes sold online and on-site use the same pricing, but enabling this option allows you to set a separate price for on-site purchases.

      • If desired, toggle on Box Office Price to charge a different price for on-site sales

      • Set the price

      • Click Add Box Office Fee to add a fee to this price point. When enabled, set the fee for your on-site sales

  • Once you had added all of your price points, click Save

Customize the Selection Settings and Limit the Supply

  • Use the Selection field to limit the number of tickets a buyer can purchase for this specific season pass

    • The Selection field controls which ticket quantities buyers can choose from at checkout. By default, buyers can select up to 25 tickets per ticket level. You can customize this by setting a new range (for example, allowing buyers to select between 1 and 10 tickets), or by limiting selection to specific quantities only (for example, only allowing buyers to select 2, 4, or 6 tickets). When specific quantities are set, only those exact options will be available for buyers to select

  • Use the Limited Supply option to limit the number of tickets available for this season pass. You will sell up to the number of tickets you specify for this ticket level. Once the supply limit has been reached, the ticket level will display as sold out

    • To limit the supply of your season pass, toggle on the Limited Supply field

    • Set the Inventory for this season pass

    • Click Publicly display total remaining inventory to display the number of season passes remaining on your live event page. This option will display the number of remaining tickets next to the ticket level's name

  • Click Done to save your changes

  • Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page

Collect Information for Each Season Pass Holder

In TicketSpice, you can collect information for each season pass you sell. When this feature is enabled, buyers are prompted to enter the selected details for every season pass they purchase. You can choose to add optional or required fields to collect information such as the season pass holder's name, email address, phone number, and more.

  • On your event page, scroll to the ticket block

  • Find the ticket level where you want to request information

  • Click Add a Question if you haven’t added a question yet. If there's already a field on the ticket level, hover over this field and click the green + icon to add a new question

  • Select the field you want to add

  • Customize the field

Pro Tip: TicketSpice offers a variety of field types you can add to a ticket level, including questions that collect personal information, questions about attendee preferences, and display-only elements that share additional details with attendees. Click here to learn more about all of the available question and field options.

Set Your Scan Settings

After creating your season pass option, we recommend configuring your scan settings to control how many times season pass holders can scan into your event using the TicketSpice Scanning App. In TicketSpice, you can configure season passes to allow a fixed number of scans or to reset the scan limit each day. For example, a season pass that includes access to 13 events can allow 13 total scans, while a daily-entry pass can be set to allow one scan per day.

  • From your TicketSpice page, hover your mouse over the Onsite tab in the top menu bar

  • Select Ticket Scanning from the dropdown

  • Click Create App Key or New App Key

  • Customize your app key settings. Click here to learn more about how to customize the app key settings

  • Find the Season Pass ticket level

  • Set the scan frequency for this ticket level

    • # of Scans - This field controls how many times each individual season pass can be scanned. This field does not refer to the total number of tickets your scanning device can handle. For example, if you have sold 500 season passes and you set # of Scans to be 1, each of those 500 season passes can be scanned once. If someone tries to scan the same ticket a second time, the ticket will be marked as invalid

    • Frequency - This setting determines whether scan count limit resets each day or remains fixed for the entire event. If Frequency is set to Total, the number of scans can be scanned up to the allowed number of times across the full event. If Frequency is set to Per Day, the scan limit resets each day, allowing attendees to use their ticket again the next day

  • Click Create to save your app key

Pro Tip: In TicketSpice, you can also require a photo or limit the availability for your season passes. Learn how to set up these options below.

Require a Photo for Your Season Passes

When the Require a Photo option is enabled, the scanning app will prompt for a photo to be taken the first time a ticket is scanned. This image will then appear on all future scans of that ticket, helping verify that the same person is using the ticket. This option is especially useful for season passes or events where guests frequently exit and re-enter, and it helps deter ticket sharing between individuals.

  • From your TicketSpice page, hover your mouse over the Onsite tab in the top menu bar

  • Select Ticket Scanning from the dropdown

  • On your app key, click the pencil icon to edit your app key

  • Click the Require a Photo checkbox on the ticket level(s) where you want to require a photo

  • Click Save to save your app key

Limit the Availability of Your Season Passes

Setting date-based availability in the app key allows you to define a specific timeframe in which the ticket level(s) can be scanned. For example, if your event runs for a year but the season pass is only valid during the first six months, you can create an app key that permits season pass check-ins only through those first six months, while still allowing other ticket levels to be scanned for the entire event duration.

  • From your TicketSpice page, hover your mouse over the Onsite tab in the top menu bar

  • Select Ticket Scanning from the dropdown

  • On your app key, click the pencil icon to edit your app key

  • Click the Limit availability by date checkbox on the ticket level(s) that you want to limit

  • Specify a start and/or end date and time to control when the ticket level can be scanned for entry. If the dates are left blank, the ticket level will remain available for scanning.

  • Click Save to save your app key

FAQs

Will my season pass tickets reduce the overall event capacity for that date or event?

No, the season pass ticket level will not remove capacity from the overall event capacity. If your venue has a max capacity, use this feature with caution.

Can I create a season pass ticket that can be scanned across multiple TicketSpice pages?

No, season passes only apply to one TicketSpice page, and cannot be scanned successfully on other TicketSpice page. Each TicketSpice page has its own unique season pass ticket level.

Can I scan tickets for that day and season pass tickets all in the same app?

Yes, you can scan standard tickets and season pass tickets in the same scanning device.

Are there any extra fees associated with the season pass feature?

Season Pass pricing follows the same structure as regular tickets. Season pass tickets cost $0.99 per ticket, plus payment processor fees of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction when using our in-house payment processor, Webconnex Payments.

Why can't I add a season pass to my event page?

If you don’t see the option to add a season pass ticket level, your event page is likely set up as a Standard or Reserved Seating page. Season passes are only supported on Date-Based and Series of Events page types. To add a season pass, we recommend switching your page type to one of these options.
