Ticket time slots are designed for events where attendees need to choose a specific date and time before selecting their tickets. With Ticket Time Slots, attendees first select a date and time from a list of available options. Once a date and time are selected, the available ticket levels for that time slot are displayed.
This functionality works especially well for attractions, tours, classes, appointments, experiences, and any event that runs multiple times per day.
Note: TicketSpice offers several different event page types. Depending on how your event is structured, one of the following options may be a better fit:
Standard pages are ideal when you want ticket levels to be visible right away, without requiring attendees to choose from a dropdown. This page type is versatile and works well for many event formats, including single-day events and multi-day events where attendees check in each day using the same ticket. Click here to learn more about Standard pages
Series of Events pages work well if you offer multiple versions of the same event (such as events in different cities) and want attendees to select a specific option from a dropdown before buying tickets. Click here to learn more about Series of Events pages
Reserved Seating pages are recommended if you want to allow attendees to select their exact seat, row, or section during checkout. Click here to learn more about Reserved Seating pages

Pro Tip: When setting up a timed entry page, we recommend adding the last date and time you plan on selling tickets for instead of the first day your season opens.
Select Your Event Type
Once you create your page template, we recommend selecting your event type. TicketSpice offers a Calendar and a Date List view that you can choose from. Both of these page types can be used for your timed entry page.
Pro Tip: In TicketSpice, there are two different displays you can use for your timed entry page.
The Date Based (Calendar) page type displays a calendar for attendees to choose from. This view works better if you have a lot of dates for attendees to choose from
The Date Based (List) page type displays a dropdown of dates for attendees to select from. The Date List view works better if you have fewer event dates, or these dates are spread far apart
On your event page, scroll to the ticket block
Click Edit Ticket Information
Select the Date-Based (Calendar) or Date-Based (List) event type, depending on your event's needs
Note: Before publishing your event, you can switch between the Standard, Date-Based (Calendar), Date-Based (List), and Series of Events page types.
Once the page is published, the selected page type is locked and can’t be changed. Click here to learn more about each page type.
Set Up Date Selection Rules
Before you can create time slots for your event, you’ll first need to set up your event dates in TicketSpice. Date settings determine when tickets can be purchased and form the foundation for assigning time slots.
TicketSpice gives you flexibility in how dates are applied to ticket levels. You can choose to have all ticket levels share the same available dates, or assign unique date options to individual ticket levels.
Select the date selection setting for your page
Share one date across all ticket levels: With this option, all ticket levels on your page use the same event date(s). After a ticket buyer selects their desired date, they will see all of your ticket levels. This option works best when all of your ticket levels are available on the same days. This is the most common setup and works well for most standard events
Each ticket level can have independent dates and/or timeslots: This option lets you manage date and time slot settings at the individual ticket level instead of setting dates for the event as a whole. With this setting, each ticket level can have is own set of available dates and times, or be configured as a standard ticket level that does not require date selection. Customers first choose a ticket level, then select from the available dates and times for that ticket, if applicable. This option is recommended when your ticket levels are offered on different days. For example, this option works well if you offer a General Admission ticket available every day and a VIP ticket that is only available on Mondays. Using independent dates adds flexibility and ensures each ticket level is sold only on the correct dates
Pro Tip: If you select for each ticket level to have independent dates and/or time slots, you will add and customize your time slots on each individual ticket level. Click here to learn how to customize your ticket levels.
Note: You can modify the date selection setting until the page is published. Once published, this setting is locked and can no longer be changed.
Add Your Event Dates (if your page shares one date across all ticket levels)
If your page shares one date across all ticket levels, you can customize which event dates are available on your ticketing page. The date options will vary slightly depending on whether your page is set up as Date Based (Calendar) or Date Based (List). Below, you’ll find instructions for adding dates for each page type.
Pro Tip: If you choose for each ticket level to have independent dates, you will not see the option to add your event dates or time slots in the main ticket settings. Instead, these options are configured on each independent ticket level. Click here to learn how to customize your ticket levels.

Add Event Dates for a Date Based (Calendar) Page
If Share one date across all ticket levels is selected, configure the date range, days of the event, and blackout days
Date Range: Define the range of dates when your event takes place, if desired. The Start Date and End Date you enter control the first and last event dates available for attendees to choose
Days of Your Event: Choose the days of the week when your event occurs. All days are selected by default, but you can deselect any days when your event does not take place so those days are not available
Blackout Dates: Specify individual dates within your event range that should be unavailable. Blackout dates will be removed from the date selector and cannot be chosen by attendees

Make sure the Visible toggle is checked. If this field is unchecked, the date will not appear on your live page
Click the trash can icon to delete a date, if needed
Set Up Your Time Slots (if your page shares one date across all ticket levels)
If you share one date across all ticket levels, you can choose whether all tickets use the same time slot settings or if each ticket level has its own time slot availability.
Note: You’ll only see the option to adjust time slot rules when one date is shared across all ticket levels.
If you choose for each ticket level to have independent dates and/or time slots, you will not see the option to set the time slot rules in the main ticket settings. Instead, you will add and customize your time slots on each individual ticket level. Click here to learn how to customize your ticket levels.
Select the time slot rule setting for your page
Share one time slot across all ticket levels: With this option, all ticket levels on your page use the same time slots. After a ticket buyer selects their desired date and time slot, they will see all of your ticket levels. This option works best when all of your ticket levels are available on the same dates and times. This is the most common setup and works well for most standard events
Each ticket level can have independent time slots: This option lets you manage time slot settings at the individual ticket level instead of setting time slots for the event as a whole. With this setting, each ticket level can have its own set of available time slots, or be configured as a standard ticket level that does not require time slot selection. Customers first choose a ticket level, then select from the available dates and times for that ticket, if applicable. This option is recommended when your ticket levels are offered at different times. For example, this option works well if you offer a General Admission ticket at 8AM, 9AM, and 10AM, and a VIP ticket that is only available at 11AM. Using independent time slots provides additional flexibility for your page
If you share one time slot across all ticket levels, set up your time slot settings if desired
Click Edit Time Slots
Update the time slot times to fit your event's needs
Click the trash can icon to remove any time slots that are not needed for your event
Note: When first building your page, you can remove or edit any of the time slots from the template that don't apply to your event.
Once ticket sales have begun, we do not recommend editing or deleting time slots, as doing so can cause data issues. If a time slot is deleted after tickets are sold, all associated data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
To add a new time slot, choose how many minutes after the current time slot the next time slot should begin. This setting controls the default spacing between time slots. Your time slot can be adjusted later if you need to enter a custom start time
Click the + button to add each new time slot. Each time slot you add will automatically start the selected number of minutes after the previous time slot
Click the X button in the right-hand corner when you are done adding your time slots
Limit Event Capacity Per Time Slot (if your page shares one time slot across all ticket levels)
In TicketSpice, you can limit the capacity of your event, if desired. When you add a capacity, you sell up to the number of tickets you specify across all ticket levels for each individual time slot. Once the capacity is reached, all ticket levels for that time slot will display as sold out, even if a specific ticket level still has remaining availability.
Note: You can only set up the capacity in the main ticket settings when all ticket levels share the same time slots. If your page uses independent dates and/or time slots, the capacity per time slot setting will not appear in the main ticket settings. Instead, capacity limits should be added and customized on each individual ticket level. Click here to learn how to customize your ticket levels.
To limit the capacity for your event, toggle on Capacity Per Time Slot
Set the Inventory for your event. This sets the limit of tickets you can sell across all ticket levels for each time slot
Toggle on Publicly display total remaining inventory to display the number of tickets remaining on your live event page. If needed, you can set a threshold so the remaining ticket count only appears once inventory reaches a certain level
Click Done to save your changes
Pro Tip: When you set an event capacity, that limit applies to each time slot.
For example, if your date-based event includes three time slots for June 13 (8AM, 9AM, and 10AM) and you set the capacity to 100, each time slot will have its own maximum capacity of 100 tickets. Ticket inventory is tracked and managed separately for each time slot.
Note: Event promoters will often enable the option to publicly display the total remaining inventory once the remaining supply begins dwindling. Showing the limited amount remaining helps drive urgency to purchase.
Create Actions that Trigger Based on the Time Slot
With TicketSpice, you can dynamically update your ticketing page based on the time a buyer chooses to attend your event. Click here to learn how to set up Actions based on the time slot someone selects.
