Seat Holds allow you to reserve specific seats for an individual or group, keeping them unavailable to the general public. This is a great option if you need to hold seats for VIPs, sponsors, special guests, or attendees with priority access. This article will guide you through how to create a seat hold in your venue, assign seats to it, and manage your existing seat holds.

    • With the Purchase Hold as a Group setting, attendees who enter the seat code will have the seats automatically added to their order. They are required to purchase all seats within this seat hold

Add a Price for Your Private Seat Holds

After creating your seat hold, you can add a price for your private seat holds.

Pro Tip: TicketSpice requires you to add a price for each private seat hold on your page. For public seat holds, TicketSpice will automatically assign the same price as the pricing tier assigned to those seats.

If you’d like to offer a unique price while using a public seat hold, we recommend creating a new pricing tier specifically for that seat hold. Then, assign the seats in your seat hold to this new tier. Click here to learn how to create a new pricing tier.

  • On the Page Builder of your Reserved Seating page, scroll to the ticket block

  • Click the Edit Seat Hold Pricing button in the ticket block

  • For each private seat hold, enter a price

Note: You will not see the option to add a price to have public seat holds. Your public seat holds automatically use the price of the pricing tier the seats are assigned to. Click here to learn how to customize your price tiers.

  • Click Add Fee if you want to add a fee

    • To set a fee, set whether you would like a dollar amount or percentage fee

    • Click the + icon to add another fee (if desired)

    • Click the trash can icon to delete your fee (if desired)

  • Click Done

  • Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page

FAQs

How Can I Add A Seat Hold To A General Admission Section?

You can add a Seat Hold for a General Admission section. However, it is important to note that the entire General Admission must be held when using a seat hold. If you only want to hold a specific number of General Admission seats, we recommend setting up a separate General Admission section, and adding a seat hold to this new section.

Why do I see the error, "Form Publish Error: Each private seat hold must have a price?"

This error means that at least one of your seat holds does not have an assigned price. To fix this, we recommend adding a price to each of your seat holds. Click here to learn how to do this.

Can I send a link to my attendees that automatically applies their seat code?

Yes, you can send attendees a link that automatically applies the seat code for attendees, allowing them to purchase tickets in a seat hold more quickly.

To set this up, navigate to your Reserved Seating page and scroll to the Seat Hold section. From there, click the Copy Link option.
