If you have an event that runs many days into the future, you can set a sales window that will only allow people to purchase tickets to attend a set number of days into the future. You also can set a sales cutoff time, meaning you can set the number of days or hours leading up to the event where ticket sales will be cutoff. For example, someone might set this if they need to know the number of people attending at least 24 hours in advance so they can prepare accordingly for staffing, merchandise, baked goods, etc.
