Accounting can be a challenge when transactions are varying amounts and fractions on the dollar. Our Dynamic Fee Calculator feature simplifies the accounting process to provide you face value of your tickets, resulting in whole-dollar payouts.
When you enable our Dynamic Fee Calculator, it will charge your attendees a fee to fully cover any costs and then send you the full face value of the order.
When passing fees to customers, the total fee includes the standard TicketSpice fee ($0.99 per ticket), plus 3.5% applied to each item and the TicketSpice fee. The Dynamic Fee Calculator charges 3.5% to cover the $0.30 per transaction fee on a Webconnex Payments transaction and reliably issue face value deposits across all uses of TicketSpice—including donations, merchandise, and coupons.

3 important notes on using the Dynamic Fee Calculator
Dynamic Fee Calculator is only available when processing through Webconnex Payments. We do not recommend using this with a custom payment processor. This is because Webconnex Payments allows for subtracting fees from the transaction directly prior to payout. If you are using your own payment processor, this feature will charge the buyer more, but the full transaction amount will go to you and we will not be able to provide deposits net of fees.
We strongly recommend removing any other fees from your page when using this feature to avoid over-charing your customers.
The payment processing fee is increased by .6% to cover the $0.30 per transaction fee on Webconnex Payments transactions and properly cover every scenario and calculation (this is charged to the ticket buyer, not you).

Absorbing Fee Calculation
Absorbing Fee Calculation
When choosing to absorb the fees, the standard TicketSpice fee is $0.99 per paid ticket. Webconnex Payments charges 2.9% + $.30 for all credit card transactions.
Here are a few examples of how to calculate the fees your event pays when choosing to absorb the fees.
Example 1: Fees for Two $50 Tickets
Example 1: Fees for Two $50 Tickets
A buyer purchases two tickets for your event. Each ticket costs $25, for a total order of $50. Here is a breakdown of the fees your event will pay when choosing to absorb the fees.
TicketSpice Fees: $1.98 ($0.99 * 2)
Credit Card Fee: $1.75 [(2.9% * 50) + $0.30]
Total Fees: $3.73
Total Payout After Fees: $46.27
Pro Tip: If you plan to absorb the fees by increasing your ticket price, we recommend setting the price slightly higher than the combined TicketSpice and Webconnex Payments fees to ensure you receive the full intended payout.
This is because both the TicketSpice fee and credit card processing fee are calculated on the total order amount. For example, if you raise each $25 ticket to $26.87, your TicketSpice fees would total $1.98, and credit card fees would be $1.86, totaling $3.84 in fees. Your net payout would then be $49.90 — not the full $50.
This is where the Dynamic Fee Calculator helps. It automatically applies a flat, predictable percentage to ensure you always receive the full face value of your ticket price, keeping your payouts accurate and accounting simple.

TicketSpice Fees for 3 Tickets: $2.97 ($0.99 * 3)
Credit Card Fee: $6.54 [(2.9% * 215) + 0.30]
Total Fees: $9.51
Total Payout After Fees: $205.49
Pro Tip: If you plan to absorb the fees by increasing your ticket price, we recommend setting the price slightly higher than the combined TicketSpice and Webconnex Payments fees to ensure you receive the full intended payout.
This is because both the TicketSpice fee and credit card processing fee are calculated on the total order amount. For example, if you raise the price of the items so the total order is now $224.51, your TicketSpice fees for the tickets would be $2.97 and credit card fees would be $6.81, totaling $9.78 in fees. Your net payout would then be $214.73 — not the full $215.
This is where the Dynamic Fee Calculator helps. It automatically applies a flat, predictable percentage to ensure you always receive the full face value of your ticket price, keeping your payouts accurate and accounting simple.
