Accepting Credit Card Payments

To accept credit card payments for your event, you need a payment processor. A payment processor charges attendees’ credit cards and deposits the funds into your bank account.

TicketSpice includes a built-in processor called Webconnex Payments, so you don’t need to set one up separately. When you publish your ticketing page for the first time, we’ll guide you through a quick setup so you can start accepting credit cards in just a few minutes.

How TicketSpice Handles Payments

With TicketSpice, you are the direct seller of tickets. This means:

  • Funds go directly to your bank account

  • Your event name appears on attendees’ credit card statements

  • You don’t have to wait until after your event to receive payouts

This is different from platforms that act as a middleman, collect payments on your behalf, and hold funds until the event ends. To make this possible, TicketSpice requires a payment processor, which we provide to you.

What Is a Payment Processor?

A payment processor (sometimes called a merchant processor) works with credit card networks like Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover to:

  • Charge an attendee’s credit card

  • Transfer the funds to your bank account

Webconnex Payments functions similarly to processors you may already know, such as Stripe, Square, or PayPal.
