Actions let your TicketSpice page update itself automatically when certain conditions are met, so you can run promotions, control availability, and personalize the ticket buyer experience without manually editing your page.
This article walks through the most common actions our customers set up, with the exact trigger and event to use for each one. Jump to the one that matches what you want to do, or browse the list for ideas.
Pro Tip: Actions run from top to bottom. If you have multiple actions on your page, actions toward the bottom can override actions above them. You can reorder your actions at any time, and we highly recommend previewing and testing your page before publishing to make sure all of your actions work together the way you intend.
Note: For Reserved Seating pages, actions can target fields outside of the Reserved Seating venue, but cannot target the venue itself. This means you cannot use actions to change the price of seats, hide seats, or adjust the capacity of your venue.

Offer a Volume or Group Discount When Buyers Purchase Multiple Tickets
Reward ticket buyers who purchase in bulk by automatically discounting a ticket level once a certain number of tickets are added to the order. For example, you can take $5 off each General Admission ticket when someone purchases 4 or more.
Note: Volume discounts are based on the quantity selected within a single ticket level, not the total number of tickets in the order. For example, you can apply a discount when someone buys 4 or more General Admission tickets. However, if someone buys 3 General Admission tickets and 1 VIP ticket, the action will not trigger because neither ticket level reached the required quantity.
Add Your Trigger
On the left-hand side, select the ticket level you want to target from the dropdown
Select the Greater Than option
Enter the number of tickets in the field below
Pro Tip: The Greater Than option triggers when a ticket buyer selects more tickets than the number you enter. To discount orders of 4 or more tickets, enter 3.
Add Your Price Change Event
On the right-hand side, select your price change event, such as Apply Discount or Decrease Price
Choose whether you would like to adjust the price by $ or %, and enter the amount in the text field
Choose the ticket level you want to discount
Click Save Action
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Note: Price change actions affect each ticket or item, not the total order amount. If you're using these actions, it's important to set up your price change action with the understanding that the discount or increase will apply to every ticket or item on the order.
For example, if you set a $5 discount and someone purchases 4 General Admission tickets, the total discount on the order will be $20.
Offer Early Bird Pricing Before or After a Date
Encourage ticket buyers to purchase early by lowering your price before a deadline, or raising it once the deadline passes. For example, you can take $10 off General Admission tickets purchased before May 1, or increase the price by 15% after May 1.
Add Your Trigger
On the left-hand side, select Date from the dropdown
Select one of the following options
The Is Before option triggers the action before the date you set. Use this option to lower your price for early buyers
The Is After option triggers the action after the date you set. Use this option to raise your price once early bird pricing ends
Add the desired date and time
Pro Tip: The Date trigger is based on the date the ticket buyer purchases tickets. A ticket buyer who purchased during your early bird window will keep that pricing, even if you edit their order after the deadline.
Add Your Price Change Event
On the right-hand side, select Decrease Price or Increase Price
Choose whether you would like to adjust the price by $ or %, and enter the amount in the text field
Choose the field(s) you want to adjust

Adjust Pricing Based on the Event Date a Ticket Buyer Selects
Charge different prices depending on the date a ticket buyer chooses to attend. For example, you can increase prices by $5 for Saturday visits, or offer 10% off for dates after September 1.
Note: This action is only available for date-based pages. It uses the date the ticket buyer chooses to attend your event, not the date they purchase. To change pricing based on the purchase date, use the Date trigger. Click here to learn how to set up this kind of discount.
Add Your Trigger
On the left-hand side, select Ticket Date Selection from the dropdown
Select one of the following options, and add the date or day if needed
The Date Is option triggers the action when a ticket buyer chooses to attend on the specific date you set
The Date is Before option triggers the action when a ticket buyer chooses to attend before the date you set
The Date is After option triggers the action when a ticket buyer chooses to attend after the date you set
The Day of the Week option triggers the action when a ticket buyer chooses to attend on the day of the week you specify

Offer a Discount Through a Tracking Link

Note: This action requires a tracking link to be set up on your page first. Click here to learn how to create tracking links.

Select the tracking link(s) you want to target

Adjust Pricing Based on Remaining Inventory
Change your ticket prices automatically as your event sells. For example, you can offer a discount on the first 10 tickets sold to build early momentum, or increase the price for the last 50 available tickets.
Pro Tip: The Remaining Inventory Is option is based on how many tickets are left, not how many tickets have been sold. Remaining inventory starts at your available inventory before any tickets are sold and counts down by one with every ticket sold.
High numbers target your first tickets sold. These sales happen while remaining inventory is still close to your starting inventory
Low numbers target your last tickets available. These sales happen while remaining inventory is close to 0
Note: The Tickets trigger looks at the total remaining inventory across your entire event, not a single ticket level. To base the price change on one ticket level's inventory, select that ticket level from the dropdown instead and choose its Remaining Inventory Is option.
Add Your Trigger
On the left-hand side, select Tickets from the dropdown
Select the Remaining Inventory Is option
Enter the range of remaining tickets that should trigger the price change
Note: Here is how to enter the range if you want to trigger the action based on the first tickets sold or the last tickets available.
First X tickets sold: Subtract X from your total starting inventory and enter the result as the first number. Enter your total starting inventory as the second number. For example, to discount the first 100 tickets for an event with 1,000 tickets available, enter 900 to 1,000
Last X tickets available: Enter 1 as the first number and X as the second number. For example, to increase the price for the last 75 tickets, enter 1 to 75
Add Your Price Change Event
On the right-hand side, select Increase Price or Decrease Price

Choose the ticket level(s) you want to adjust
Click Save Action
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Pro Tip: Price change actions only apply while the condition is met. Once your remaining inventory moves outside the range you set, your tickets return to the standard price set in the page builder.
Show or Hide Questions Based on the Ticket Level Selected
In TicketSpice, you can show or hide specific questions depending on the ticket level someone selects. For example, you can show a meal preference question only when someone selects at least one VIP ticket level, or hide a T-shirt size question for Child tickets.
Add Your Trigger
On the left-hand side, select the ticket level you want to target from the dropdown
Select the Is Completed option
Add Your Show or Hide Event
On the right-hand side, select Show or Hide
Select the field(s) you want to show or hide
Click Save Action
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Pro Tip: Actions automatically assume the opposite is true. If a question is set to show when a ticket level is selected, it will be hidden until that ticket level is selected. If a question is set to hide when a ticket level is selected, it will show until that ticket level is selected.
Stop Selling or Hide a Ticket Level After a Date
Automatically remove a ticket level or option from your page once a deadline passes. For example, you can stop selling your Early Bird ticket level after March 1.
Pro Tip: This action hides tickets based on the current date. To hide tickets based on the date an attendee selects to attend your event, use the Ticket Date Selection trigger instead.
Note: Once a ticket level has accepted orders, we strongly recommend hiding the ticket level instead of deleting it. Deleting a field from your page also deletes the attendee information tied to that field.
To hide the ticket level immediately, set up a hide action with a Date trigger and select today’s date. This prevents buyers from selecting that ticket level for new orders while preserving the information from existing orders.
Add Your Trigger
On the left-hand side, select Date from the dropdown
Select the Is After option
Add the date and time you want to stop selling
Pro Tip: When using the Date trigger, the action is triggered by the current date when the ticket buyer signs up for your event. If you edit the order after the action date has passed, the action will still apply as long as the ticket buyer originally signed up before that date.
Add Your Hide Event
On the right-hand side, select Hide
Select the ticket level or option you want to hide
Click Save Action
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Note: Once a ticket level has accepted orders, we strongly recommend hiding the ticket level instead of deleting it. Deleting a field from your page also deletes the attendee information tied to that field.
Show a Hidden Ticket With a Coupon or Access Code
Keep a special ticket level hidden from the public and reveal it only to ticket buyers who enter a specific code. This is a great way to offer exclusive tickets to sponsors or VIP guests.
Add Your Trigger
On the left-hand side, select the field where ticket buyers will enter the access code
Select the Value Is Exactly option
Enter the exact code ticket buyers will use to unlock the ticket
Add Your Show Event
On the right-hand side, select Show
Select the hidden ticket level you want to display
Click Save Action
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Pro Tip: Actions automatically assume the opposite is true. When you set a ticket level to show only when a code is entered, it will be hidden by default. You do not need a separate action to hide it.
Hide a Time Slot on a Specific Date
If your showtimes change from day to day, you can hide a time slot on the dates it is not offered. For example, you can hide your 8PM time slot on Sundays, or hide your 10AM time slot on December 24 only.
Note: This action is only available for date-based pages with time slots enabled. The Ticket Date Selection trigger is not available for Standard Pages or Reserved Seating pages.

The Date is After option triggers the action when a ticket buyer chooses to attend after the date you set

On the right-hand side, select Hide
Under Ticket Time Slot, select the time slot(s) you want to hide
Click Save Action

Limit Capacity for a Specific Time Slot
Set a smaller capacity for specific time slots, such as an early morning session or a smaller evening showing. For example, you can limit your 9AM time slot to 200 tickets while all other time slots keep the default capacity of 500.
Note: This action is only available for date-based pages with time slots enabled The Set Capacity Limit event will only appear if all ticket levels share the same dates and/or time slots.
If your ticket levels use independent dates and/or time slots, the Set Capacity Limit action will not be available for these triggers.
Add Your Trigger
On the left-hand side, select Ticket Time Slot from the dropdown
Select one of the following options
The Selection Is option triggers the action when the time slot(s) you choose are selected
The Selection Is Not option triggers the action when the time slot(s) you choose are not selected
Select the time slot(s) you want to target
Add Your Capacity Limit Event
On the right-hand side, select Set Capacity Limit from the dropdown
Enter the new capacity limit in the text field on the right
Select the Tickets option from the dropdown
Click Save Action
Click Save Now in the upper-right corner of your page to save your changes. Click Publish to publish these changes to your live page
Pro Tip: Capacity actions only apply when the condition is met. Every time slot that does not meet the condition will use the standard capacity set in the page builder.
You can only use actions to lower the capacity below the default set in the page builder. If you need the capacity to be higher in certain situations, we recommend increasing the overall default capacity and then using actions to reduce the limit in all other cases.
