How to add specific data from the ticket buyer to display on their issued ticket.

Ticket Short Codes give you the power to display an attendee's response to a multiple choice field directly onto their ticket. For example, this could be used if you'd like them to select a meal option and want their selection to display on their ticket.

NOTE: Ticket Short Codes are only available with multiple choice fields. The multiple choice field must be a sub-ticket field.

In order to enable this feature, you'll add the multiple choice field, copy the reference key and add it to the ticket. We'll walk you through the steps below.

Add a Multiple Choice Field

Under the ticket level you'd like to add the multiple choice field to click Add a Question

Select the Multiple Choice field

Update the label to be whatever you'd like - In this example we'll say Food Choice to capture what attendee's want for lunch

Add Your Choices

Click Add Choice to add in your multiple choice options

Click Generate Choices

Note: When you click the Done button, the field will create the Reference Key. The Reference Key is how the system identifies a field. Your Reference Key will be based on the field label. So if I label the field Food Choice, the Reference Key will be foodChoice. The Reference Key cannot be edited once it is created.

Click the Done button

Copy the Reference Key

Click the pencil on the field to edit the field again

Click on Advanced Options and copy the Reference Key and then click the Done button

NOTE: The Reference Key is case sensitive. So it is imperative to copy and then paste it to assure it is exact vs trying to hand type it in.

Add the Ticket Short Code

Click on the Ticket tab

Click under the ticket level title and type a [ and paste the Reference Key from the multiple choice field and type ]

In this example, the ticket short code should read [foodChoice]

Save + Publish Changes

Click the Save Now button and Publish your changes

Note: You can add multiple ticket short codes on a ticket if desired. If for example you had a Food Choice field and an Add On field, it could look something like this [foodChoice][addOn]

How it Shows on the Ticket

Here is how this example will display on the Confirmation. People can click Show additional ticket information

It will display the field label and the selection

On the ticket it will just show the selection.

NOTE: If you'd like to include the field label on the actual ticket in addition to the selection, simply type the field label in before you paste in the Ticket Short Code. See screenshots below.

Add a Label to the Ticket Short Code

You can type in a label in front of the ticket short code and that label will display on the ticket

Here is how it will display on the ticket
