In TicketSpice, you can make memberships scannable by adding a unique QR code to each membership. Members can present their QR code for entry or verification, and staff can scan it using the TicketSpice Scanning App. You can also review your account's scan history to see when and where each membership has been scanned.

Enable Scannable QR Codes for Your Memberships
With QR codes enabled, each membership is assigned a unique QR code that can be scanned using the TicketSpice Scanning App. After this feature is enabled, members automatically receive their unique QR code in their membership confirmation email whenever they purchase or renew a membership through your ticketing page.
From the top menu bar, hover over the Extras tab
Select Memberships from the dropdown
In the Overview tab, click Enable QR Codes, or toggle on Enable Membership QR Codes if this feature was previously disabled
Note: When you enable QR codes for your memberships, the setting applies to all membership levels on your account. At this time, you cannot enable QR codes for only specific membership levels.
Configure Scanning Limits for Your App Key
From the Pages screen, click the pencil icon on the page that you want to edit
Hover your mouse over the Onsite tab in the top menu bar
Select Ticket Scanning from the dropdown
Click the pencil icon on the app key you want to edit, or click Create App Key to create a new app key
Pro Tip: If you leave a membership's scan limit blank when creating an app key, the app key defaults that membership level to 1 scan per day. To prevent a membership level from being scanned, set its scan limit to 0.
Toggle Allow Scanning Memberships to Yes
For each membership, set the scan limit and choose whether it is a lifetime limit or resets daily
Click Create
Pro Tip: Membership scan limits are configured and tracked independently for each TicketSpice page. Scans on one page do not count toward the scan limit on another page. For example, if one page allows members to scan once per day and another page allows two scans per day, a member can successfully scan once on the first page and twice on the second page. Each TicketSpice page enforces its own scan limits separately.
A member's scan history, however, includes scans from all TicketSpice pages, allowing you to view their complete scanning activity in your reports.
Note: If you have multiple scanning app keys configured for the same page, scans from all app keys count toward that page's scan limit. For example, if the same membership is scanned using two different app keys, it counts as two scans toward that page's scan limit.
Scan Memberships Using the Scanning App
Note: You cannot search for memberships by name or email in the Scanning App. Memberships can only be verified by scanning the member's QR code.
Open the TicketSpice app on your mobile device
Enter a Device Name
Enter your App Key found on your TicketSpice page
You can choose to enter the app key manually, or click the QR icon on the right-hand side and scan the QR code on your TicketSpice page
NOTE: To ensure full access to all features in the ticket scanning app, be sure to tap Allow when prompted to let TicketSpice find and connect to devices on your local network, and tap OK when asked for permission to access your camera.
Tap the Scan icon on the home screen of the app
Point your camera to the attendee's membership QR code
Pro Tip: After scanning a membership, the Scanning App displays the scan result along with the member's name, membership ID, membership level, and expiration date.
The top-left corner of the scan result indicates that the scanned QR code belongs to a Member rather than a Ticket.
Depending on the membership's status, one of the following screens appears:
Active Member (Green): The membership is active and was successfully scanned
Membership Inactive (Red): The membership is active. If needed, click Force Check In to check in the member anyway
Membership Already Scanned (Orange): The membership has reached its allowed scan limit. If needed, click Force Check In to check in the member anyway
Membership Expired (Red): The membership has expired. If needed, click Force Check In to check in the member anyway
Member Not Found (Red): The scanned QR code belongs to a membership in a different TicketSpice account and cannot be scanned in your account
Pro Tip: If you try to scan a membership in an app key that is not configured to scan memberships, you will see the error "Membership Scanning Disabled: Membership scanning is not enabled for this account." If you see this message, adjust your app key to allow membership scanning.

If I've added multiple scanning app keys to my device, which membership scan limit is used?
If I've added multiple scanning app keys to my device, which membership scan limit is used?
If you've added multiple app keys to the same device and those app keys have different membership scan limits, the Scanning App uses the membership scan limit from the first app key added to the device.
Example: If the first app key added to your device allows 1 scan per day for all memberships and the second app key allows 2 scans per day, the TicketSpice Scanning App will enforce a limit of one scan per day for all memberships.
If the app keys are added to your device in the opposite order, the Scanning App will enforce a limit of 2 scans per day for all memberships.
