You can use Contact Tagging to quickly and easily organize your contacts in TicketSpice by adding custom labels to your contacts. Whether you’re tagging based on location, purchase history, volunteer status, or a past import, tags let you manage your TicketSpice contacts and attendees. Additionally, you can use Contact Tagging to send tailored messages to specific groups of contacts instead of sending one-size-fits-all emails.

In this article, you’ll learn how to create tags and assign them to your contacts for more personalized and effective communication.

Jump To...

Create A Tag

  • From the top menu bar, select the Contacts tab

  • From the left-hand dropdown, select the Tags tab

  • Click Manage Tags

  • Click Create Tag

  • Enter Your Tag Name

  • Click Create

Pro Tip: You can add letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores in a tag name.

Tag names cannot include spaces, symbols, or repeated dashes or underscores. Additionally, tags cannot begin or end with a dash or underscore. If you try to create a tag using an invalid character, the tag will appear in red, and you’ll be prompted to adjust the tag name to meet the formatting requirements.

Manage Your Tags

Note: When managing your tags, you can use the search bar to search for a specific tag. In the Manage Tags screen, you can quickly see the name of the tag, the number of contacts connected to a specific tag, and the tag type.

  • From the top menu bar, select the Contacts tab

  • From the left-hand dropdown, select the Tags tab

  • Click Manage Tags

  • Click the pencil icon to edit a tag's name

  • Click the trash can icon to delete a tag

Assign a Tag to Your Contact(s)

In TicketSpice, you can quickly assign tags to your contacts. You can assign a tag to one contact at a time, or assign tags to multiple contacts. If you would like to tag one contact, we recommend tagging the contact from the contact's profile page. If you want to tag multiple contacts at once, we recommend tagging the contacts from the Contacts page.

Assign a Tag from the Individuals' Contact Profile

  • From the top menu bar, select the Contacts tab

  • Search for the contact's name or email in the search box

  • Click the eye icon next to the contact you want to cancel

  • Click Add Tags

  • Select one or more tags to add to the contact

  • Click Save

Assign a Tag from the Contacts Screen

  • From the top menu bar, select the Contacts tab

  • Click the checkbox next to the contacts that you want to add tags to, or click the Complete All checkbox next to the Names field to add a tag to all contacts

  • Select Tag Selected Contacts

  • Select one or more tags to add to the contact

  • Click Save

Send an Email Blast to Your Tagged Contacts

When you use contact tagging, you can easily send a targeted Email Blast to just the contacts you want. For example, you might send an update to everyone tagged as VIP ATTENDEE, or a reminder just for those with the VOLUNTEER tag. This is a great way to deliver focused, relevant communication without emailing your entire contact list. Click here to learn how to send an Email Blast with TicketSpice to your tagged contacts!
